- Sellers who have owned their present home for 5 out of the last 8 years may be eligible for a credit up to $6,500
- The tax credit does not have to be repaid.
- The tax credit is equal to 10 percent of the home’s purchase price up to a maximum of $8,000.
- **The credit has been extended for active duty military personnel who were deployed for a minimum of 90 consecutive days between January 1, 2009 and April 30, 2010 a home must be purchased and closed on before April, 30 2011.
- Single taxpayers with incomes up to $75,000 and married couples with incomes up to $150,000 qualify for the full tax credit.
